This music festival focuses on the vital role of performing popular soundtracks from Japanese animation worldwide.
Although Japanese anime soundtracks are an essential element that can completely change the anime scene, until now, there hasn't been a music festival specializing in this type of music, both internationally and here, homegrown in Japan.
"Together with many of our friends, we want to share the wonderfulness of this music, which has the power to further bring out the charm to people worldwide who love anime." "We want to hold the world's first soundtrack music festival in Japan!" -Yuki Hayashi. With this in mind, and with the cooperation of many people, we held "Episode 0" in September 2022 at Kamigamo Shrine, a World Cultural Heritage site in the ancient capital of Kyoto, with a history of over 1,300 years.
This year's "Kyobansai -KYOTO SOUNDTRACK FESTIVAL- 2025" will be held for two days at the ROHM Theatre Kyoto.
On the first day, Saturday, September 20th, "Kyobansai -KYOTO SOUNDTRACK FESTIVAL- 2025" will feature a gathering of composers led by Yuki Hayashi, who will display animation footage while performing live.
On the second day, Sunday, September 21st, a special event called "Mibu-Rock" will feature the collaboration of the anime Blue Miburo and Kyobansai. On this day, many events take place, including appearances by a star-studded line-up of voice actors and exceptional live soundtrack performances by Yuki Hayashi, who is also the producer of this event.
We are continuing preparations so that you can enjoy a fusion of a wide variety of anime works and music, so please look forward to it.
We hope this will be an opportunity for everyone to experience anime soundtracks, be a place where you can experience the finest music performances, and help further strengthen your love for Japanese anime.
